Preschool and Weeschool

TBI offers it’s Weeschool and Preschool programs five days a week, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children must be 3 years to enter, although toilet training is not required for admission. Our classes are developmentally appropriate and multicultural, with an emphasis on celebrating Jewish holidays. We are known in the Eugene/Springfield area as a high quality and welcoming community preschool.

Preschool News

Carole Diller, TBI Preschool Director

September/October 2009

Our camp provided us with an exciting and enriching summer of “travel” at TBI Preschool. We learned about life in other countries, about different animals and about rituals and traditions around the world. We made sushi, broke a piñata, cooked ethnic foods and heard music from various nations.

We are set for the fall, with all our wonderful teachers and almost-full classes. School starts on September 9th. We have a couple of weeks to adjust to school along with celebrating Rosh Hashanah. Of course, in Preschool the highlight of any holiday is what we eat, and apples and honey help start the year on a sweet note. The Preschool sends wishes for a sweet new year to the entire Temple community. We are grateful to be part of the Temple Beth Israel family.

Our fall fundraiser is one we hope many of you will be able to support. We are selling Dutch Mill flower bulbs, planted in the fall and blooming in the spring. Bulb packages are sold for $6 and we earn $3 per package. More information and order forms available at dutchmillbulbs.com, in the Temple office or through the Preschool.

Children learn from what they see, so we make sure that life lessons are incorporated in our classrooms and curriculum. Teaching children about planting, earth stewardship, recycling, composting and reducing our consumption can create good habits at a young age. We promote an environment of respect and caring for everyone and everything.

The new school year brings a sense of anticipation and we look forward to lots of fun and creating a fresh crop of memories.

Wishing you all the sweetest New Year with good health and good play.
