Rabbi Yitzhak Husbands-Hankin
Senior Rabbi Yitzhak Husbands-Hankin assumed the position of Rabbi in 1995, after serving in many leadership positions at TBI for eighteen years. He was born in 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and has had a long and loving relationship with synagogue music. He studied cello at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and at the University of Oregon. Our services are enhanced by the beautiful liturgical music introduced and composed by Rabbi Yitzhak.
Rabbi Yitzhak was ordained as Baal T'fila (Cantor) by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach (z'l), is a member of the Cantors' Assembly, and was ordained as Rabbi by Rabbi Zalman Schacter-Shalomi. He has a strong background in social services and is an advocate for alter-abled people.
