TBI Special Funds

The funds listed below support the committees and programs of Temple Beth Israel. Your donations are vital to their ongoing work. We welcome your tax-deductible donation to any of our special funds.

Supports all the programs and activities of the Temple

Arts & Aesthetics
Supports the beautification, decoration of interior spaces

Chevra Kadisha (Burial Society)
Provides supplies and training for the Temple’s Jewish Burial Society and financial assistance for burial plots for those in need

Community Education/Cultural Arts
Provides educational opportunities for adults through special speakers and guest educators, and promotes art and music events for the community

TBI Endowment Fund
TBI’s restricted fund at the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation. Most Legacy Gifts are directed to the Endowment Fund.

Grounds and Maintenance
Provides funding for maintenance and enhancement of the Temple building and grounds

Kinberg Religious School Scholarship
Provides scholarship funds for TBI’s Talmud Torah (Religious School)

Purchases books and supplies for the Temple library

Funds go to mortgage payments on the new synagogue and Center for Jewish Life

Neve Michael Children’s Village
Supports the Neve Michael Children’s Village for at-risk youth in Israel

Prayer Book
Purchases prayer books for the Temple

Supports the program and activities of the TBI Preschool

Queer Chavurah
Supports GLBTQ programs and activities and promotes Queer visibility

Rabbi Ruhi Sophia Discretionary
Used by Rabbi Ruhi Sophia for charities and special causes

Senior Rabbi Retirement
Retirement fund established for Rabbi Yitzhak

Seniors Programs
Funds special programs for the seniors in our community

Sisterhood Simcha
Provides scholarship money for youth to attend Jewish camps and other special programs

Talmud Torah (Religious School)
Funds special programs, projects, and teacher training

Talmud Torah Library
Used to purchase books for the TBI Talmud Torah (Religious School)

Tzedakah V’Chesed (Social Services)
Provides funds for individuals and families in need
